The Four Seasons Hotel, California Health & Longevity Institute & Organic Communication invite you to Retreat. Reflect. Refocus.
The health and longevity of your organization depend on the health and longevity, wellbeing and resilience of your teams/people.
Creating a high-performing, health-focused organization is a challenge that many companies face. Research indicates that organizations that implement a corporate wellness strategy gain valuable benefits through lowered healthcare costs, increased productivity, reduced absenteeism and improved morale. Optimum health of executive leadership teams is critical to inspire the success and effectiveness of corporate wellness initiatives.
For today’s business leaders seeking to create a ‘Culture of Health’ and drive peak performance throughout their organization, California Health & Longevity Institute is the only partner offering a seamless integration of evidence-based medicine with lifestyle and leadership experts and programs designed to address the personal and organizational aspects of corporate health.
RETREATS DESIGNED TO MEET YOUR OUTCOMES/DESIRES
Organic Communication retreats are specifically designed to meet the needs of your retreat attendees. In a pre-retreat discussion, we identify your organization’s goals for the retreat, and clarify the skills and knowledge the attendees hope to take away with them at the retreat’s end. Matching your requests with our expertise, your retreat is designed with those desired outcomes in mind.
OUR RETREATS FOCUS ON FOUR THEMES
Retreats begin by facilitating new ways for participants to connect with one another, professionally and personally. The stage is set for collaboration and interaction that allows for meaningful engagement with colleagues. We plant the seeds for innovative partnerships, collaborative efforts and cross-selling services that grow and keep business with your organization. Participants return to their firms and organizations with an identification of common goals and shared purpose.
High achievers tend to be competitive. Redirecting that competitive drive away from competition with colleagues and other firms, and channeling it into competition with possibility generates innovation—new thinking, new approaches and better outcomes. Organic Communication facilitators guide participants through thought-provoking activities and engaging conversations that challenge their innate resistance to change, old ways of thinking, and traditional business models. Attendees go back to their firms with ideas and strategies to develop innovative partnerships and collaborative efforts for building an enterprise culture. Equipped with effective business models that serve both financial objectives and professional values, attendees emerge with the will and knowledge to undertake new and creative ways to deliver the high quality and responsive services that their clients expect.
Sustaining a high-performing organization begins with clarity—about what’s happening now and the direction the firm wants to take next. Navigating successfully from “now” to “next” is the collective responsibility of the members of the firm. Organic Communication facilitates conversations that elucidate and demystify the opportunities and obstacles for sustainability and success. Where are you now? Where do you want to go? How will you get there? Who needs to be on board to accomplish your firm’s objectives and goals? What are the very real challenges and threats you face and what must be done to overcome them? What are stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities in driving positive and productive long-term change? Participants leave the retreat with focus and a road map to move forward toward excellence.
A great outcome of our retreats is that attendees emerge with a strong sense of commitment. Commitment is a two-sided coin, with firm culture on one side (internal commitment) and client service on the other (external commitment). Retreat participants deepen their commitment to advancing their firm’s collaborative and innovative goals while simultaneously committing to focus on a primary result: high-quality work for clients.

Team Building Options
The purpose of the following offerings can be customized to meet the outcomes that your group is seeking to achieve. The activities can be used for a simple reason as having fun, getting to know other, creating connections, networking, or taking a break from the “usual” meeting.
Low V
A partnering event held outdoors. The focus is how to effectively partner, be trustworthy and lean on someone else. The group will practice asking for, receiving, and giving support.
Solo Activity
This activity will provide your team the opportunity to self explore “Who do I want to be from this day forward?” This program can be introduced in an easy and engaging way, either a lightweight quick look at myself or a deeper exploration! The Solo will provide an experience for each team member to have that time of reflection, that many of us never take the time to even investigate.
Blind Trust Walk
One person must lead his/her blindfolded colleague through an obstacle course – without saying a word! This activity helps build a sense of trust among co-workers and allows them to develop creative ways to communicate with each other.
Trust Fall
A trust fall is a purported trust-building game often conducted as a group exercise in which a person deliberately allows themselves to fall, relying on the other members of the group (spotters) to catch the person.
“Magic Carpet” Flip Over
With 6-10 people standing on a “Magic Carpet” (tarp), the group is challenged to flip the tarp over without anyone touching the ground. Teams that collaborate with this team building game, the goal becomes much easier. This activity requires working together in close physical proximity in order to solve a practical, physical problem. It tends to emphasize group communication, cooperation, patience and problem solving strategy, as well as issues related to physical self and physical proximity.
Back-To-Back Drawing
The group is broken into pairs. Each pair will decide who will be the director and who will be the illustrator. A simple drawing will be handed to the director. The director will be asked to conceal the drawing from their partner. The illustrator gets a blank sheet of paper and a pencil. The illustrator, too, must conceal his/her paper from his/her partner. The directors tell their illustrators how to replicate the drawing, using only verbal instructions. To make this more challenging, the illustrators are not allowed to ask questions. Alternatively, we can design the activity to allow illustrators to ask only questions with yes or no answers. When all pairs are finished, the group comes back together to compare drawings and discuss how they handled the assignment. The group is encouraged to discuss the process of giving and receiving instructions.
Ball Toss
The group will form a circle. A ball will be thrown at one of the group attendees. Whoever catches the ball must state their favorite color. That person tosses the ball to someone else in the circle. The catcher of the ball has to restate the previous color and add another color of their choice. The third person to catch the ball must restate all the previous colors and add another. The object of the game is to memorize the list of colors, which will be more challenging as the list gets longer. This activity aims to improve listening skills and help attendees to learn how to stay focused when the pressure is on.
Helping Hands
A philanthropic activity. Gain insight while giving back to the world at the same time.
Team Scavenger Hunt
In small teams, the group will follow clues and be challenged in experiential activities, finding supplies or puzzle pieces along the way.
Helium Stick
A deceptively simple yet powerful exercise that will ignite the group to learn how to work together and communicate effectively. This activity will allow the group to draw conclusions on verbal and non-verbal communication, the difference between loud, vocal “leaders” and those who lead by example, and more.

VO2
Considered the gold standard in cardio respiratory fitness testing, VO2 determines the amount of oxygen a person utilizes during exercise. Using this value and your heart rate, precise caloric expenditures can be determined at different training intensity levels. With this information, a custom cardio program can be designed to achieve personal goals, allowing you to train smarter, not harder.
RMR
This test takes the guesswork out of dieting by determining the daily calories you burn at complete rest. Based on this data, our experts can design an individual dietary plan that allows you to eat according to your metabolism.

In this assessment, learn how your body moves in both a static and dynamic fashion. Total body strength, flexibility, posture and balance are carefully examined.
